Any monster of level 5 or higher can drop it. Equipment from a level 5 monster is picked at random from 13 pieces, this one included, each as likely as the others.

Its effects count every hero’s level of it together: with all 6 heroes at level 10, 60 in all, MDEF + 1 becomes MDEF + 61. Disassembled, it gives Pine Logs, like every Common armor. Once you’ve had one, you can craft more from the equipment dictionary when the Blacksmith reaches level 20: 5,500 Pine Logs at first, more as your heroes level it.
