How a battle's levels are set
Most battles' Nexomon levels aren't set in advance: the game rolls each one when the battle starts, from a total weight. That weight adds up every story event you've passed in the game's difficulty list (72 events, each worth its own amount), the weight of the region you're in, 1 more once your strongest Nexomon is past level 7, the battle's own weight (its page gives it), plus 1.
Then:
- At the very start of the game, a rolled level is 4 at most.
- If the average level of your three strongest Nexomon is more than 2 above a rolled level, that Nexomon gets up to 3 levels more.
- In Precursor Valley, the Abyssal realm, a level is raised to within 3 of your strongest Nexomon, plus the battle's weight, and is never below 70.
- No level goes past the level cap.
A few battles have fixed levels instead, shown in their party tables. In Custom Mode, the extra difficulty setting adds to them.
Bigger rewards
Some battles pay more: the game multiplies each Nexomon's EXP, and the coins you win, by the battle's multipliers, which it keeps between 1 and 10.
