Hits and damage
An attack's accuracy is its chance out of 100 to land. Your Nexomon get 15 extra accuracy on every attack, so the same skill lands more often for you than against you. Some effects change that: every attack on a Sleeping Nexomon lands, for one.
Your misses get a second chance, too: every other time one of your attacks misses, the game rolls again, and it lands 90% of the time.
Some skills change those odds:
- Lock Target adds 45 to the user's accuracy, and Smoke Screen takes 15 off the accuracy of the Nexomon it hits.
- Focus Seed makes attacks on the user 15 less accurate, and Reflective Mirror 30 less.
- Against a Nexomon under Mirage, every attack's accuracy is 25.
- Crescent Wings gives the user a 75% chance to dodge an attack, even one that would have landed.
- Haunting makes the user's next 3 attacks land no matter what.
Skills that don't deal damage but aim at the other Nexomon roll their accuracy too, without your 15 extra. One with no accuracy can't miss.
How much damage
Damage starts from the skill's power, the attacker's ATK and level, and the target's DEF and level. Each level the attacker has over the target adds 0.8% more, and each level under takes 0.8% off. Your Nexomon's attacks get 5 extra power, and an opponent's lose 5, to no less than 5.
That's multiplied by how the skill's element fares against the target's (the Elements page has every matchup), and it hits 15% harder when the attacker's own element is the skill's. Every hit does at least 1 damage, even from a Burning attacker, whose attacks are weaker.
A few things bend the element matchups:
- A Nexomon under Sky Blessing takes no extra damage from any element.
- A Cursed Nexomon's attacks all count as weak, for half damage.
Tamers weigh matchups too. Their Nexomon rate each attack by its power times its matchup against yours, and when they switch, they look for one whose element is strong against your Nexomon's.
Critical hits
Every attack has its own chance of a critical hit, shown on its page. A critical hit deals 30% more damage.
These change the chance:
- Martial Arts adds 30 to the user's critical-hit chance.
- Snake Eyes takes 60 off the chance of the Nexomon it hits.
- A Nexomon hit by Infected Seed can't land critical hits at all while it lasts.
- A Nexomon under Ocean Force gets 60 more critical-hit chance on its Water skills.
Who goes first
When both sides use a skill, each adds the skill's speed to its Nexomon's SPD, and the higher total goes first.
Some skills change SPD for this:
- Quick Feet adds 40% and Tropical Rain 60%, while Wind Blast takes 60% off the Nexomon it hits.
- Energy Strike takes 10% off an opponent's SPD, but 20% off yours.
- Super Charge raises the user's ATK, DEF and SPD by 30% each time it's used, up to 3 times.
Stamina
Every skill costs stamina, shown on its page. Spiritual Boost takes 10 off each cost, to no less than 1, while Forest Song adds 10 to the costs of the Nexomon it hits and Dark Flow adds 25%.
