Getting a status effect

Each effect a skill can cause has its own chance, shown on the skill's page. Some only happen when the skill hits; the rest are rolled whether it lands or not.

Every effect except the helpful ones, Recovering, Planted and Invincible, counts as an ailment.

Skills and cores change the odds of an ailment:

Primary and secondary effects

A Nexomon has one primary effect at most: Sleeping, Paralyzed, Burning, Frozen, Poisoned or Demotivated. A new one replaces it, and the same one again only takes over if it's stronger or lasts longer. Secondary effects can pile up, one of each kind.

The primary effects, one at a time.
The secondary effects, which can pile up.

Corrupted Mineral doubles the damage Burning, Poisoned, Bound, Hexed, Inception and Leech do to the Nexomon it hits.

How long they last

An effect's length is picked between the turns shown on the skill, both included. It loses a turn at the end of each turn except the one it arrived in, and one with no length stays until something removes it.

When they end

Besides running out, or being cured with an item:

  • When a battle ends, or you flee it, every secondary effect ends with it. A primary effect stays, into your next battle.
  • A Nexomon swapped in comes in without secondary effects, so swapping one out ends them.
  • A Nexomon that faints loses every effect.
  • Fully restoring a Nexomon clears every effect on it, its primary one too.
