Making dishes
A recipe names the fish in one batch and how many dishes the batch makes. You choose how many batches to make, as many as your fish allow. Most recipes take one fish and make three dishes.
Only three different dishes can be on sale at once. Sushi Bar tasks raise that to 4 and 5.
Each customer orders one of the dishes on sale at random, and every kind is as likely as any other, whatever it costs. Every dish sold pays its price in Gold. Cucumber Sushi needs no fish and never runs out. A customer gets it when nothing else is on sale.
Switch a dish to automatic and the Sushi Bar restocks it for you:
- When the last plate of an automatic dish sells, another batch is made from your fish.
- If that dish can’t be made, the Sushi Bar makes the dearest other automatic dish that is off sale and that you have the fish for.
- Neither goes past the limit on dishes on sale.
Your Sushi Bar earns EXP each time the cook prepares a plate. It earns more for dearer dishes, from 1 for Cucumber Sushi up to 500 for the biggest platters.
Unlocking recipes
A recipe stays hidden until you have unlocked the fishing spot of every fish in it. Platters are held back further. See Platters.
Leveling a dish
Most dishes have five levels. The dish of each spot’s Legendary fish has ten. Cucumber Sushi has just one. Each level sells for more than the one before.
To level a dish up you need the fish listed for its current level, and they are used up. Your Sushi Bar then earns EXP for the new level. It’s a one-time cost: making the dish afterwards still takes only its recipe’s fish, and every plate sells for the new level’s price. Each level asks for more fish than the one before.
Platters
A platter is a dish made from several kinds of fish at once. Each spot has four small ones, from three to four kinds of fish and ten dishes a batch, and one big one with ten kinds and 45 dishes. A platter sells for far more than a plain dish. Hearty Coconut Bay Platter sells for 2,400 Gold, against 3 for Red Snapper Roe.

A platter’s recipe stays hidden until you have leveled the dishes it is built from. A small platter wants each of its dishes at level 5. A big platter wants the spot’s four small platters at level 5 and its Legendary dish at level 10.
