Squid
You catch Squid at Cirrusea. It is a Rare fish, so you need a rod of level 3 or higher. It is omnivorous, so any bait works. When a Rare fish takes your bait here, it is Squid 25% of the time with herbivorous bait and 50% with carnivorous.
It has three variants: Vampire Squid, Piglet Squid and Short-Fin Squid. When Squid is picked, each takes its place 1% of the time.
In the Aquarium it earns 180 Gold an hour, and its variants earn 360.
Dave can bring it back too, from a dive while your boat is at Cirrusea.
