Earning Gold

Every fish in your Aquarium earns Gold for you, at the hourly rate on its page. The Aquarium pays out every five seconds. You choose which fish live there. A fish you take out goes back to your bag.

While the hunger bar has food in it, your fish earn double. The bar drops by one every five seconds. Every bit of food a fish eats puts 30 back, up to the bar’s size. To feed them, press and hold on the water. Food drops where you hold, and the fish swim over to eat it.

Switch on Auto Feed and the Aquarium drops food for you every ten seconds, and keeps the double income going. Your fish keep earning while the game is closed, for up to 24 hours. You can turn that off with Income While Away in Settings. Leisurely Mode halves the Aquarium’s income.

Breeding fry

The Hatchery opens for 500 Gold, paid once. Put two of the same fish in it and they breed. Every fish in a pair makes a fry each time its own timer runs out, which is the time its page lists as Breeds in. A fish and its variants count as the same fish for this.

Like the Aquarium, the Hatchery keeps working for up to 24 hours while the game is closed.

  • Common fry
  • Fine fry
  • Rare fry
  • Epic fry
  • Legendary fry
  • Mythic fry
Fry, drawn by the rarity of the fish it grows into.

Feed a fry and it becomes a fish. Each feed has a price per fry, and the fish waits for you to pick it up. The fish is either the plain fish or one of its variants, picked by weight. A better feed takes weight off the plain fish, so a variant is likelier.

Take Puffer Fish. Its plain fish weighs 10,000 and its variant 100, so a variant comes from:

  • Popcorn: 1% of fry.
  • Spicy Strips: 1.2% of fry.
  • Choco Jelly: 1.6% of fry.
  • Strawberry Cake: 4.8% of fry.
  • Swirly Pop: 100% of fry.

Popcorn works on fry of any rarity. Spicy Strips, Choco Jelly, Strawberry Cake and Swirly Pop only work on Rare to Legendary fry, and they unlock with your Sushi Bar level. The Blue Hole’s fry only take Popcorn.
