Pinion will help you gather farm statistics.

Building it unlocks the farm's statistics: in the game's words, Pinion will help you gather them. Pinion himself just wanders the farm and stops to chat.

Moves to the farm once Rusty has built Pinion's House.

With nothing to do, Pinion now and then (1 in 4 times) walks over to a resident who's free within 15 tiles for a 30-second chat, never the one last talked to; neither works meanwhile. There are no chats on the crossover farms.
